About your Inspector
Laurel Harris is a graduate of the Algonquin
College Home Inspector Program, and is one of approximately 200
Registered Home Inspectors (RHI) with the OAHI in Ontario, which is the
highest accreditation a home inspector can achieve in this province.
Laurel was also one of the first 100 inspectors in Canada to become a
CAHPI National Certificate Holder and also holds full membership with
ASHI. She presently serves on the DPPC (Discipline and Professional
Practices Committee) for the Ontario Association of Home Inspectors, as
well as the Editorial Committee for the Canadian Home Inspector
magazine.
In order to achieve Registered Home Inspector status,
Laurel had to complete a number of pre-requisite courses relating to the
major house systems, as outlined by the OAHI; pass the National Home
Inspectors Exam produced by the Canadian Association of Home Inspectors (CAHI);
perform a minimum of 200 home inspections; and submit two Inspection Reports
of verification to the OAHI Report Verification Committee.
Laurel Harris is a full time Home Inspector in the Greater Ottawa area
who adheres to the OAHI Standards of Practice and Code of Conduct, and has
personally inspected well over 3000 homes.
